2017 is Interlinkx CiC & CC Hackney's tenth year.

Due to Covid 19 virus all club face to face activities are suspended until further notice. Please check CC Hackney's website for news updates and how to stay in touch during this period.

The news in 2020 is that Interlinkx has been converted from a community interest company into a charitable incorporated organisation under the terms of the Charitable Incorporated Organisations (Conversion) Regulations. In the process of conversion, the organisation has changed its name to Cycling Club Hackney CIO. Meanwhile, the community amateur sports club called Cycling Club Hackney has been wound up and has gifted its assets to CC Hackney CiO

Interlinx CiC, was responsible for CC Hackney'sHQ/house and home as well as leading on fund raising
& community outreach. In 2017 was the ten year anniversary since founding in 2007. Our partner organisation
(CC Hackney) came into being later in the same year.

Interlinkx CiC staff and directors attended the recent public debate and raised one question about the affects associated the apparent and unnecessary disconnect going on between adults and young people these days.

Another highly productive session at Fawcett


One of our youngest members (little sister of...) was even most pleased with the handle bar streamers, they were fitted at the end of her bike tune up. 






Today was the day that Fawcett regular and general all round good guy Henry Boateng finally got his run around BMX sorted. It only took two months. That rare seat post was a real problem - but at last the part was found; phew!


Abrahim and the gift bike that has kept on giving since 1983. This eighties mountain bike has something about it (rust) Tonight we took several steps to restoring the Pegasus into better shape; an urban horse with history. We upgraded the front wheel from steel to alloy, made a much needed headset adjustment, fitted front and rear reflectors, tuned up the brakes, and had a go at adjusting the bottom bracket. Sadly this last job was not possible during the session due to it being rusted in. We doused the adjustable bearing cup with WD40 penetrating fluid with the hope that it will be free next week.

Not too much oil on chain and see you next week.

Hertford Town day trip

The first Interlinkx CiC & Cycling Club Hackney sponsored day trip ride of 2016 took place last Saturday 23rd January. Staff and a select group took to the River Lee tow path, heading north until reaching Hertford Town. The distance was around twenty five level but off road miles. There was a half way refreshment break at the Lee Valley White Water Centre before pushing onto the destination and lunch at Cafe Rosa. Four miles out riders stopped off to admire the lake views of Amwell Nature Reserve.
Returning by bike was not on the menu (another time perhaps) they took the train from Hertford North to Finsbury Park after which the short route back to Homerton via Stoke Newington & Clapton.
